It's been a fantastic start to the year getting to know your children in my Health and Physical Education lessons. I have been thoroughly impressed with all of the student's enthusiasm and attitude they have displayed in these weekly lessons.
A huge well done to Neave 5/6C, Finn 4/5C and Callum 4/5C who were the first students to represent our school at the Nambour District Interschool Swimming trials. It was a great day and these students did themselves and our school proud with their efforts.
Congratulations to Neave who has been successful in reaching the second round of the Nambour District U12 Girls AFL trials. Good luck to Neave in the next round of trials, fingers crossed you are our first student to be selected in a Nambour District Representative team.
Runners Club has begun for students in Years 3 - 6 during second break on the oval with Miss Pearce and myself. We're both extremely impressed with the numbers of students participating in this activity despite the warm weather. Years 1 - 2 students will be given the opportunity to participate in their Runners Club when they are on the oval on Wednesday’s.
Staff and students are very much looking forward to our first Inter-house Cross Country carnival that will be held on the 26th March (Friday Week 9). Students from both the primary and special schools will participate in this event. An information letter will be sent home with students closer to the date.
District trial letters have begun trickling home for students who are 10 - 12yrs. These trials are held after school hours so parents/carers will be required to transport students to and from these trials. It would be great to see as many students as possible from Palmview State School participating in a variety of sports at these trials. I will inform students when these trials are being held and will also put a copy of the calendar with these trial dates on our website for your viewing.
